TREVISO THE DANTE BRIDGE

The Dante Bridge ("where Sile and Cangnanaccompanied", according to the famous verse of
Divine Comedy - Heaven, IX, v. 49, referring t othe two rivers of Treviso), is one of the most
characteristic places of the city and reminds of Dante Alighiery's stay in Treviso
during his pilgrimage in the various Italian cities after his escape from Florence, following
the controversy with the Pope Bonifacio VIII. Dante Alighieri (Florence, June 13 th
1265-Ravenna, September 13 th 1321) was a poet, a writer and an Italian politician. He is considered as the first and the greatest poet of the Italian language and is trerefore called "the Supreme Poet", or "The Poet" (or "the prophet"). For having taking into use the native language of
people he is also called as the father of Italian language. His main work, the Divine Comedy, is the greatest poem of the Italian literature and it is also considered as one of the masterpieces of literature in the whole world. Buried in In Treviso, in the church of S. Francesco, is Dante's
son Pietro Alighieri, a judge, art citic and a poet like his father. In the photo, at right, you
can still admire the mediaval houses with original frescos, whereas on the bridge there is erected a
marmor memory stone of the poet with a quote of the Divine Comedy.

TREVISO IL PONTE DANTE

Il Ponte Dante ("là dove Sile e Cagnan s'accompagna", secondo il celebre verso della Divina Commedia - Paradiso, IX, v. 49, in riferimento a due fiumi di Treviso), è uno dei posti più caratteristici della città e ricorda la permanenza di Dante Alighieri a Treviso durante il suo pellegrinaggio in varie città italiane dopo la sua fuga da Firenze in seguito ai contrasti con il Papa Bonifacio VIII. Dante Alighieri (Firenze, 13 giugno 1265 – Ravenna, 13 settembre 1321) è stato un poeta, scrittore e politico italiano. È considerato il primo e più grande poeta della lingua italiana e per questo definito "il sommo poeta", o "il vate" (ovvero "il profeta"). Per aver tenuto a battesimo l'utilizzo letterario della lingua volgare viene anche considerato Il Padre della lingua italiana. La sua opera principale, la Divina Commedia, è il maggior poema della letteratura italiana ed è considerata uno dei capolavori della letteratura mondiale. A Treviso, nella chiesa di S.Francesco, è sepolto Pietro Alighieri, figlio di Dante, giudice, critico d’arte e poeta come il padre. Nella foto, a destra, si possono ancora ammirare le case medioevali con gli affreschi originali, mentre sul ponte è eretta una stele in memoria del poeta e della sua citazione sulla Divina Commedia.

bella Treviso, eccellente il modo di come ce la mostri.
Eccellente la resa dei colori e spettacolari sono i riflessi delle case e degli alberi, nell'acqua, i quali creano una bella tavolozza di colori.

Un bellissimo angolo in una luce stupenda e magnifici colori, molto pulita e nitida rasoio. Mi piacciono le riflessioni in acqua e anatre di nuoto in esso. POV eccellente.

I have seen this same bridge a few days ago and I must say that I really like this wide view because of the great general context. The people and the birds are a good life add-on. The POV is fantastic as they are the colours too. Well done.

Hello Giorgio,
Simply beautiful, the composition using the water foreground is stunning.
The light and the reflections add so much to the image, it looks bright and clean.
I like the note, I've not heard of this man before and to see where he is remembered so well is a pleasure.

Ma che romantica foto, specie per una vecchia romanticona come me! Viene voglia di specchiarsi, in quei riflessi splendidi, ma con qualcuno, ovviamente. E io con chi? Bé, in effetti un innamorato perso ce lo avrei, anzi: ce l'ho. Si chiama Vlad e mi adora. Potrei portarmelo a Treviso facendogli indossare un cappottone e anche un paio di occhiali scuri.Ma accidenti, le sue orecchie a punta passerebbero inosservate? E lui, con tutta la sua buona volontà e il suo amore per me, riuscirebbe a camminarmi accanto su due sole gambe? Vlad ( il conte Dracula, Vlad Tépes) é il mio pastore tedesco! Ciao...

Caspita che bella! Sei riuscito a smorzare la forte luce che c'era enfatizzando i colori e i riflessi in modo stupendo. Difficile anche per un trevigiano tirar fuori una immagine così suggestiva di uno dei posti più caratteristici di Treviso. Mi piace tantissimo, veramente bravo!

Excellent composition here using the reflection to create depth and balance. The lighting and colors are great with outstanding sharpness and DOF. Your POV is great showing the scene from an angle that creates nice depth and direction.

é un sentimento particolare di vedere la stessa (o quasi la stessa) vista che Dante vedé. Avevo la simile esperienza in Fontaine de la Vaucluse dove Petrarca soggiornava. Mi piacciono molto i colori. (E anche l' intimitá ed i riflessi.)
