Photographer’s Note

The harbour canal (Canale Porto) starts from Terracina harbour and extends into the city about 500 metres. It is aligned by small boats and surrounded by modern houses. In Terracina there are a couple of other canals, several kilometres long, being part of the big
draining project of Pontine Marshes, started in 1926.

This photo is taken from the bridge near the harbour. On the left is a take-away fish restaurtant and fish market "Pescheria Cooperativa dei Pescatori di Terracina", with a few tables arranged outside in the evenings. We ate there delicious fish meals in a couple of evenings.

When you post both an evening and a morning capture, it is hard to choose. But I go for the evening colours here, as I see you do yourself. There is a strong feeling of warmth here and it must certainly be nice to sit at the restaurant here for some fish! And I appreciate that you are one of the few on TE to always include the map references, I wish everyone did!

Hello Lasse,

You chose a very good angle righ on the canal, also to both sides the boats, together with the reflections of the pink colour of the sky in warter.

awful lack of time prevents me from assessing photos "on a hot scent" :((
I like the evening colours very much, especially the reflection in the water! There's a special evening mood of transition into a different world which is called "night"...

To be honest, composition-wise, I would prefer the Workship variant! It's much better. I think the WS photo deserved a separate posting. Concerning the WS variant, the photo has excellent colours!

this image is beautiful above all for the perfect management of the light and for the beautiful reflexes pink color on the channel. Considering the shortage of light, the neatness and the sharp are excellent. As always, you have done an excellent work, BRAVO!

Nice canal perspective, it is not yet too dark so many details can be seen on the side houses, but nothing there comes close to Venetian palazzi...

Hi Lasse,
I don't find the houses particularly attractive, but that looses the importance when I look at the beautiful light, specially on the water. Very good POV/perspective, the depth is one of the things that catches the eye.
