Venice ! Where else ! Photo

Photographer’s Note

Not exactly Venice but an island North of Venice in the laguna. The island's name is Burano, famous for its laces. But the tourist will find everything related to Venice's souvenirs. After crossing a bridge I saw those mask and the canal in the background with the colored houses typical of Burano island. The only difficult thing to take this picture was the 15 minutes waiting for all tourists to free the point of vue for at least one second ;o)

Bonjour,

I like your careful composition of this shot very much! I like the way the strong lines cross the screen making interesting geometric shapes.
The masks make an interesting f/g and set the scene before the eyes move towards the canal and the pretty pastel coloured houses.

I like your use of the ornate masks as a contrast to the simple, clean lines of the colourful Burano houses. Well worth the wait!
