Photographer’s Note
When you approach Ponza's harbour from sea, you can see these rock formations. The needle like rock on the left is called Caciocavallo (Lo Scoglio del Caciocavallo). A legend tells that the rock earlier had a fallic shape and infertile women used to go there on pilgrimage during the night considering it a good luck talisman. When a piece of the summit fell off this belief and superstition disappeared. :-)
This is taken on board of the ship arriving to Ponza from Terracina.
