Trani is a seaport of Apulia about 40 km northwest of Bari. The main monument of Trani is the Cathedral, which is also called Cathedral of St. Nicholas the Pilgrim. It lies on a raised open site near the sea and was consecrated, before its completion, in 1143. It is built in the characteristic white local limestone. The vicinity of Trani produces an fabulous sweet desert wine, Moscato di Trani.

The Volkswagen Type 1, more commonly known as the Beetle or Bug, is an economy car produced by the German auto maker Volkswagen from 1938 until 2003. Although the names "Beetle" and "Bug" were quickly adopted by the public, it was not until August of 1967 that VW itself began using the name. Speculation suggests that its peculiar styling, underpowered motor, rough ride, and high noise levels should have made it a market failure. It was in its day, though, more comfortable and powerful than most European small cars, and ultimately the longest-running and most-produced automobile of a single design.

This picture is a scan of an original analogue print. The tight crop was triggered by other cars that were parked there, but I like the effect. Art is finding what you're not looking for.

Hello Benny,
I like very much the combo here...the Volkswagen seem to fit very well with the architecture and the rest of the environment.I like also very much the low pov you choose to send the perspective from the car to the tower of the Cathedral...
An image with a lot of sense from the past...

Have a nice weekend,
Thomas

Interesting POV that played by perspective distortion of lens,Good composition and contrast of subject form in foreground and vertical line in background,I like the color and grain in this frame too.Good work,TFS.

An interesting juxtaposition here. It goes well together, albeit in an odd way. Like the muted tones, it definitely has a 60'ish feel.
cheers,
CT

Hello Benny,
I like your POV, the matching colours and the tight cropping.

Gert

Hi Benny, Great compostion makes this iimage work for me. The intersting juxtapostion of the classical european architecture and the more modern but still european VW. Scan is good quality too. Cheers, Steve

Great job,

Hi Benny and thank you
Very nice composition
Beautiful photo with great POV
Best regards
Nick

nice composition! I like the contrast of the the car and the building.
I think its very good in terms of color - they are all quite unified and consistent.

Hello Benny,

A very interesting composition with a good juxtaposition between the acr and the nice buildings. A good timing and a goog POV too.

Roger

Hi Benny. I immediately went to this shot in your gallery as a Beetle was my first car (a two tone red and cream one from 1963). I loved that car, but it was a little unreliable! I like the vertical format from a low pov with the tower looming in the background. The colour of the VW fits in well with the stonework of the buildings. Chris

Hi Benny
Any other color for the beetle will have not work.It just blends with the buildings, a natural fit.
The vertical format is dramatic.

Well seen, I think that this overwriten sentence has its true place here.

Hi Benny,
This is pretty cool! I love all the creamy colours together in one image, everything blending so well together. Great choice to use vertical format emphasising the height of the tower, and I really like the way you composed it not showing the beetle completely in the frame. Film scan gives it a nice retro feeling too. Being a beetle owner myself I love this shot!

Wanda
