Mediterranean Fishing Village, a photo from La Spezia, Liguria

Photographer's Note

The small village of Manarola in the Cinque Terre area of Italy's Ligurian coast. The foreground is of a platform about 50 to 100 feet above the water where the village's boats are kept. The boats are lowered to the water using a winch, then the fisherman meet the boats at the water by going down the stairway just under the pastel houses across the way. Picture was taken late in the afternoon when the sun was shining a nice soft light on the town.

I like the point of view of this village. Details and colours are impressive. It seems to be a plesant place. The atmosphere looks calm and quiet. Thanks for sharing. Nice presentation too.

In my opinion, this picture is very well composed with shinned lights and colors, and by the way I appreciate a lot the fishermen's daily life because I think that these people, in general, have a hard life. This small village is very special, tipic and beauty and you catch it very well. Good colors and light. It is interesting your note explaining how the boats and fishermen will get in to the water.
