Photographer’s Note

Acqua alta, or "high water," can make Venice feel like Atlantis ;o). At its worst, in 1966, acqua alta flooded the city with more than a meter of salty lagoon water.

You can see here the Campanile of San Marco Square under Water ;o)

A nice picture to show the "acqua alta" in Venice.
A symbol of Venice, the tower, seen on the reflection, and the usual lines of tourists.

C'est pas mal cette image, jolie reflection sur le pave mais je trouve cela un peu associal, au lieu de t'enfuir a Venise avec seulement ta douce et ton loulou, tu aurais pu venir faire quasiment la meme avec le beffroi de Lille et une horde de trekkers sous leurs parapluies...

Belle image mais pas de chance pour un petit we à Venise de se taper un temps pareil :-(
Enfin il faut faire comme on dit contre mauvaise fortune bon coeur, et ta petite famille a donc bien du en profiter !

I like this upside down and reflected view of the architectural landmark. Very well balanced with the people crowding at the top of the image.

Bonjour Luan,

Clever creativity, though not a very inviting scene, the capture is remarkable, lowering the usual pov of the Campanile of San Marco down to the flooded canvass is unique in itself!

Beautiful shot of Venice, allthough the situation for the inhabitants is not that good.
The people in their rainclothes seem not to be bothered with the aqua alta.

Excelente utilisation du reflet dans l'eau pour une composition beaucoup plus significative que le simple cadrage vers el haut aurait donné :)
Excellent point de vue aussi.
