Clock

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [French] |
The construction of the tower goes back to 1496.
The clock indicates the hour, the phases of the Moon, the position of the sun and the signs of the zodiac, and the seasons. It was useful for the navigators to envisage the favorable moments of navigation. Above the winged lion of Marc Saint, automats sound the hours.
The names of "Moors" would come from the particularly dark color of bronze.
The Tower of the Clock, or Turn of the Moors, is one of the most famous monuments of Venice: it dominates like a triumphal arch the access to the nerve centre of Venice, the antique street della Merceria (of the Trade)
With his large astronomical clock, chief of work of technique and ingeniery, it is an element impossible to circumvent of the image even of Venice and it marks some, from now on since five hundred years exactly, the life, the history and the infinite race of time.

Hallo Guy,
Prettige pinksterdagen,
John.
Hi Guy
A well framed shot of this clock in difficult lighting conditions. All the details are nice and sharp. Well done.
Best wishes
Mark
Bonjour Guy.
