This guy is making a miracle. His name is Luka Vidic, from Hisa eksperimentov in Ljubljana. He is staging a small scientifc show named "Gaseology", at the International Scienece Media Fair in Trieste. Bear in mind: he is talking about the gas laws, in english, to an audience of italian-speaking people/children. But still, you can read the interest he is building up in children's faces. That's an achievement, trust me.
Just a glimpse of his show: look the two ballons on the left. The violet one is filled with helium, while the white one is filled with CO2 (and thus heavier than air). Which one will he take to extinguish a candle? And what happens if such a ballon falls into liquid nitrogen at -196°C?
If you want to enjoy similar shows, there are a lot of museums. The first one was the Exploratorium in San Francisco, while in Europe, one of the most exciting I saw was in Winterthur, while some TE members will already know the Immaginario Scientifico in Trieste.
Technical: problems with the flash casting ugly shadows on the background (left) white panel. Very difficoult to catch the experiments, since they are quite "dynamic". |

Hi Marko,
A shot which requires a closer look to open. You are right. Those kids are really attentive. And the two balloon is sort of key detail to whole presentation what's going on. Well framed and actually quite fun shot too.
