S like in Siena Photo

Photographer’s Note

The gentle hills and fields of the Val d’Orcia are tinged with different shades and colours for each season: intense green in early spring, sprinkled with patches of yellow broom in May and June, pale or burnished gold when the wheat ripens.

After the harvest, the yellow stubble takes on a luminous, almost phosphorescent sheen, until plowing turns the hills into shades of earth brown.

Cette route en S bordée de ces arbres longilignes te permet une très belle composition. Le patchwork de couleurs vert-marron complète bien la sensation de plaisir occasionnée par la vision de ce beau paysage toscan typique.

Hello André,

La Toscane est magique pour ces décors. Les petites montagnes qui supporte une maison et qui sont accessibles par des chemins bordés de d'arbres régulièrement planté. C'est superbe. De plus tu as eu la judicieuse patience d'attendre la plus belle lumière et les plus chaudes couleurs.
C'est superbe !

Quelle belle lumière tu as eu en Toscane. En plus la végétation est bien plus verte qu'en été. J'aime beaucoup comment les peupliers serpentent jusqu'à la maison et même plus loin. Pourquoi doit y avoir des pylones électriques, même discrètes ?

Wonderful composition, we all search for these lines in the landscape when we are down there. You found youself an excellent pov with an eye striking composition. Low light which gave you nice warm colours over the fields, how i like those shadows guiding the trees along their path....wonderful.

The photo is one of the kind i like most. Simple, with nice contrasts and elegant composition. The colours have a subtle vibrancy in their own right.

One thing that annoys me a little is pale sky to the left of your photo. Is this a smoke? I guess it could be easily adjusted by applying some layer masks in PS.

Hi Andre, is it Chianciano or Monticchiello? I went to take a similar photo last Saturday, but it was rather imposible, to many cars running on the street. Lovely warm tones, and long shadows of a setting sun.

I've been dreaming about Tuscany lately. This photo captures it so beautifully. The many different color tones of the fields seem to all be represented here. I love how much there is to see in this photo, and yet the composition is still very simple. An "S" curve that leads to a beautiful farmhouse. Usual suspect #13 indeed!

My eyes roll over the hills so smoothly to all the different almost triangular segments... the rich brown in the foreground, the grey patches inbetween to the olivey shades of greens all interspersed with those wonderful straight up trees s-ing through the landscape. The house at the top of the 'S' is the crowning element in the shot. Nicely done!
