Photographer’s Note

Situato ai piedi del monte Conero è parte integrante del parco regionale del Conero. La spiaggia è ghiaiosa con la presenza di sassi, non sempre piccoli.

Portonovo si può dividere principalmente in tre parti: la parte nord, chiamata anche "Mezzavalle", la parte centrale delimitata dalla successiva dal molo e dalla torre. Mezzavalle è una spiaggia di difficile accesso, si può raggiungere solo a piedi percorrendo due sentieri, non lunghi ma abbastanza ripidi in alcuni tratti. Poco frequentata, gli interventi umani sono limitati. La parte centrale, quella più frequentata dai turisti, è raggiungibile attraverso una strada asfaltata, ma tortuosa. Qui si trovano diversi ristoranti ed alberghi. La parte sud, tra la torre e la chiesetta, è una zona favorevole alla pratica di windsurf, con il vento che è quasi sempre presente.

La spiaggia di Portonovo è considerata Bandiera Blu da alcuni anni.

Nella parte nord di Mezzavalle si trova il "Trave", un lungo scoglio naturale che si estende, a pelo d'acqua, per circa un chilometro verso l'interno della baia. Sopra di esso si trova una costruzione artificiale chiamata "Casotto Fattorini". Il Trave è uno dei pochi posti in cui i moscioli, ovvero le cozze, nascono in modo naturale; la loro pesca è rigidamente regolata[2]. Dalla parte sud della baia si trova invece un molo artificiale, che dovrebbe essere utilizzato solo per situazioni di emergenza, e che molti bagnanti usano per tuffarsi nel mare

Very unusual perspective although its quite going well with the shot. Colors are too good and fine composition and a unique POV.

quando sono nella mia terra, le Marche, in estate cerco di cogliere l'occasione per visitare questa spiaggia che è una delle mie preferite. Ottima l'idea di usare questa composizione diagonale.

Hello Stamatis,

I normally really hate tilted horizons :-). But this one is so over the top that it more becomes a graphical work than a horizon. In that sense, I appreciate it for being different.

Hi Stamatis,
a great example on how to use a diagonal with tilt. The effect is lovely and very dynamic. I like the special colors with that bit of splash of strong red, the simple yet effective composition. Very well done!

hello Stamatis,
unusual approach to landscape, but it works very well! the seaside is quite abstract in this photo, so the dramatic tilt is not disturbing, but just the oposite, I like a lot the result with the strong diagonal and great red colour accent. very well seen and presented, my compliments.
