Difficult not to fall nostalgic, with your today's photo ! Before clicking on the thumb, already the talking title...

It was so great to sit down in the middle of a piazza, or on the pavement somewhere else in groups... Listening... Singing...

The silhouette of the dog passing by quietly is so perfect, nowadays that piazza is invaded by restaurants, the atmosphere has changed totally - no more interesting leper walls such as these, everything is neat and chic, but part of the charm has gone...

Well, not all Rome has undergone such a change, fortunately !

rome my friend?? this picture seems almost like one from my mother's end-of-sixties, beginning-of-seventies pics from old riga (her and her hippy movie making buddies). some things are timeless, i guess.

thanks for another glimpse at your life story, george. read's like a first class novel.

Co tu powiedziec, poza tym, ze buty zdarles na ulicach, zes stary wyzeracz, i ze ciagle nas tymi starociami uczysz. Scena swietnie skadrowana, a obrobka tak polonezowa, ze zdjecie z miniaturki z galerii mnie zawolalo.

Indeed looks like coming from the psychedelic year of San Francisco!
I enjoy it so much...a treasure from the past and the most wonderful image with street musicians I've seen recently in those pages!

Apparently not as good as the one you've described for these folks...LOL Again, I love how your almost B&W shots have those great dashes of color. Lots of stories there, nice action. Really a very good old atmospher, like woodstock.. we have need a lot music for happy life, now its impossible have the same scene in Rome streets.. all is clean... good work.

very nostalgic shot. Great documentary of past everyday life. It has such a great mood, ambient that I want to go back in time. It seems this days that everything was better back then in old days. Excellent capture. Thanks for sharing. Now I will go and listen to a song named: I wanna go back...

To już wtedy starsi chłopcy zaczęli nosić łysiny ? Nie wierzę ! To było tak dawno ! Wszyscy wtedy byliśmy młodzi, piękni, długowłosi. I szczęśliwi :))). Jeśli nie w tym dokładnie momencie z pewnością pełni nadziei na przyszłość... U nas nawet bez LSD, które słabo przenikało przez żelazną kurtynę...
Tylko te wschodnie tryndy, jakby trochę później przywiało...
No nie - spojrzałam właśnie na datę zdjęcia - 1981. Ja myślałam, że to 71,2,3... :))). Teraz rozumiem czemu takie wytarte te buty (też takie miałam) i głowy ;)))
Ciekawe co sobie młodzież współczesna myśli, jak widzi swoich starych na takich zdjęciach ?

Still a decent result with your 'cheapest crap' film :-).
I'd advice a LowaPro Slingshot bag if you're laying in the dirt - you were wondering where to keep your camera and lenses when contemplating on life while being on LSD and laying in the dirt - Slingshot 200. Perfect dirtbag ;-).
