The Barcola takes place since 1969 at second Sunday of October every year on the Trieste gulf. The Barcolana is a regatta for everyone: from mega-yachts to small sailing boats, from professional yachtsmen and women to the passionate amateur.
More than 1800 boats have partecipated this year.

The picture has been taken from a flat in Trieste the day before the Barcolana

Tutte belle le foto di questa spettacolare regata Serena , brava.

Che bella inquadratura, Serena! Mi piace il fatto che ci hai messo anche il Municipio con la bandiera.
La Barcolana è molto fotogenica! E Trieste è ancora più bella.
Cerco di immaginare quale poteva essere il tuo POV: via Giustinelli? o via Tigor? da qualche parte là intorno.

Ciao Serena,
volevo andare anch'io ad assistere alla Barcolana ma il vento forte mi ha fatto desistere, per cui apprezzo in modo particolare questo tuo scatto, perfettamente nitido e dai colori meravigliosi. Il POV è perfetto, e sbirciando un pò tra le tue foto, ho notato che è una tua preziosa caratteristica quella di riprendere sempre da punti strategici. Sei brava.

and I suppose there isn't a single hotel room available in Trieste at this time. Something similar happened to me in Genova this October.
