As mentioned before I had the chance to visit Italy for a couple of days in a business trip. It was a hard work in Turin during the week and no idea of what to do on the weekend. I was in the hotel restaurant thinking about that when a guy suddenly approached us asking if we were brazilians.
- Yes man, nice to meet you. What a hell are you doing here? Of course the question was the same for us.
He said: hey, I have rent a car and I'm thinking about going to Florence. It's about 450km from here. We go in the morning and spend the whole afternoon there. At the end of the day We'll be here. Let's go!
And we did.
Florence is a wonderful city. Wherever you look at, you see history. The imponent renaissance architectures make every step of our feet a pleasant moment.
This view is from The dome of the Florence Cathedral (often called Il Duomo). It's one of the most famous works from this period. It was designed by Filippo Brunelleschi, who is considered the first architect of the Italian Renaissance. A native of Florence, he studied the structures of Rome, then returned home to combine the design elements of the antiquities with a new sense of proportion.

Ficou realmente boa.

Lucky meeting that took you to Firenze! And a superb panoramic view from top POV. Great light and colors and fine sharpness. Large version shows the city really well.

this is a very nice panorama of good quality. All those roofs and the streets crossing each other create a very dynamic view and it is clear and sharp. Even the more distant hills are good visible. Just like a walk through Florence.

One makes sometimes astonishing and useful meetings. You composed a splendid image of Florence with a great quality. The light is very beautiful, one has access to details of precision, congratulations.
Spend a good day.

Just by seeing this from above you can see it's Italy. I can't realy describe why if you´v asked me I would say ITALY.
there's a certain mood, light, color thats specific for each land (a bit like that you could see from where people came just by watching them walk)
Anyway it's a very nice panorama.
Have a nice weekend.

Hi Carlos !
Good shot and fantastic city panorama.Your POV is fantastic and you had good light.A great shot with good sharpness and many fine details.
wgreis (8267) 2007-10-27 3:36
mpdre (1611) 2007-10-27 10:51
An incredible panoramic of the old city of Turin. There is something magic in the view of the towns from above, a perspective that allows to perceive so many details of the roofs and organization of the streets... Here, the large perspective that fuses with the mountains and sky in the background is really beautiful. Congrats!
lestans (17200) 2007-10-27 12:59
I am so glad that you enjoyed Italy!
This stich is a very good one, an unusual view for me., perhaps because Piazza della Signoria is in the extreme right side and I recognize Florence by this Piazza and Brunelleschi Dome in the skyline.
A very well done work!
Floydian (30970) 2007-10-27 14:23
I'm a bit late my friend for this one. The image is to good for leaving it without a comment.
In stitchwork i always look at flaws of bad stitching, but really can not find it in here, you must have used PTGui ;-)
The light over the rooftops is wonderful, a nice yellow glow which makes a beautiful contrast with that blue sky...a real good one..!!!

Hi Carlos, absolutely perfect city panorama shot! Great job!
Stunning image!I like it very much!
TFS and regards,
pboehringer (770) 2007-11-02 7:26
Faltou tb aquele efeito polarizador ;-)
PixelTerror (0) 2007-11-03 3:30
So much in the frame with a 18mm ? or did you stitch several photos together here ? Whatever the method the result is nice with some more prominent buildings emerging from the sea of roofs.
Have a nice day,
isabela_sor (47748) 2007-11-03 7:17
Ohh,a sea of roofs!!!This panorama in a excellent large version is sensational!!!My congratulations!!!So clear, and so perfect

cooperknights (394) 2007-11-17 17:41
Much of what I want to say has been said already... A lovely perspective of a city I know so well... Bright colours, warmth and loads of detail all show off the best attributes of "la bella Firenze".
jmdias (67965) 2007-12-13 16:01

The atmosphere is clear and help you to have a good effect.
zmey (7335) 2008-04-09 6:37
nice stitched city-scape panorama here, friend. very detailed and sharp all through. maybe my picky nature does not agree with the foggy sky-blue in the background (for such a red-roof perfect take), but i know, not always we have time to wait while traveling. good work! :)
npecanhuk (77725) 2008-04-12 10:46

nice this panoramic shot of Florence, especially in the LV.Usually scenes with a lot of houses create a mass that can you separate buildings from each other. But as i see your shot is a great one.I like all this red roofs, that cover the buildings.Well done.
Amaz (11475) 2009-07-01 5:47

I decided to check some of your older posts and saw that you visited Italy. Italy is close to Croatia and I've been there many times, I've seen numerous photos from different towns so trust me when I tell you that this is one of the best semi-aerial views of Florence I've seen so far. Plus, it's so sharp & clear.
Actually, not that many photos are taken from the Duomo (and put on the net afterwards!) which is a shame because this is an excellent view. Your photo simply makes me want to go back to Florence...
mauro61 (52857) 2010-02-19 3:10
