Photographer’s Note
This white house with its tower like lookout, struck me as slightly out of the ordinary in Venice.
Scanned from a colour negative. This was taken on Kodak Gold 200, and scanned at the time of processing by our local Kodak Imaging shop.

Hi Peter,
Darkness is leading up the the sunlit house in this fine photo. The reflection along with the perspective really makes this a bit above the average picture.

Hello, Peter.
I absolutely love reflections on water. I like this one. As you say, the whole scene looks very Venetian, with the exception of that white tall tower which is at the focal point of the picture. I suppose that is one reason why you took this photo. But the real attractions to me are the reflections on the canal and the fantastic textures in those high walls on either side.
For a scan from a colour negative this is excellent. How did you scan it?
Kind Regards,
John.

Hi Peter,
I like this shot very much. It has all the right ingredients - the walls leading the eye into the image, reflections, warm colours, dark to light and a focal point.
A great image, and from a scanned neg as well!
TFS,
Best Regards.
Malc.
