[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is my first attempt with a SLR camera. I just bought a Canon EOS 400D and I have still to find out how it works :-)

This one was taken from the alp hut Cason (2200 m) on the mountain Rësciesa - Raschötz - Rasciesa towards the Odles - Geißler mountain group. This is where the world famous alpinist Reinhold Messner did his first climbing steps and lerned his first skills. The peaks from the left are Furchetta, Sass Rigais and Fermeda (all around 3000 m). The Seceda on the right is a popular ski mountain from wher I took this one. You can see the cablecar station on top.

Hi Guenther,
Well balanced composition with the line of the fence to the left parallel to the line formed by the trees to the right. A beautiful landscape I really would like to see some day.
Regards
Gunnar

very nice shot form this mountine place. you do good job with you new camera.

OHHHHHHH

Hi Guenther,
Congratulations on joining the ranks of the canon army, hope you'll have plenty of fun and enjoyment with your new camera !
I like here your Pov well introduced by the house on the corner, and of course when I see mountains I feel good, now the overall impression looks a bit too bright. That's mostly because you shot this one right in the middle of the day in full summer, the hard light washed your colors quite a bit.
Now, what you need is a polarising filter to get better contrasts at shooting time already, keep in mind you might want to buy more lenses later with different ring sizes than on your 18-55, for example I decided to buy only 77mm lenses if possible, so I can use only one pola on all of them. If you have to do with several sizes, you can get a pola of the largest size and use adapter rings to step down. That being said, at this very moment a polariser would have been useless because it requires oblique light.
Another thing I'd like to tell you is learn to shoot and process RAW as soon as possible, I didn't do it more than one year long after getting my 350D and I now deeply regret it.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hola Guenther,

¡Qué bello lugar, y qué bien lo has "cazado"!

Hello Guenther,
and congratulations for aquiring this very good camera. You are going to discover a lot of new possibilities. Like my friend Jean-Yves alreay said, a polarizer would have been very helpful in this situation, as it is generaly speaking for moutain pictures.
Have a nice evening.
Best regards, Christian

Cher ami Guenther,
Philippe

Hi Guenther

Wonderful colour, lighting, sharpness & contrast. I'd just burn in the slightly oe fg path a little. Good graphism of the dark green trees against the superb mountain backdrop. Tfs!

Hello Guenther,
