Photographer’s Note
This is the entrance to a very ordinary house in a narrow street in the medieval city centre of Ostuni, a small town on a hill top off the coast North of Brindisi ... but what a frame!
I had to cut off some disturbing details at the right and at the top so the pic gets a little tight, maybe. I tried also B&W but was not convinced.

A very strange door, recent but framed by a roccoco arch. I've tried the BW but I agree with you: as there is already few colors, it's great to let it like that, the brown on the door makes a better contrast bewteen what's old and what's new. Well seen and well done!

Che porta particolare per una casa "normale", forse in origine il palazzo ospitava qualcos'altro...Very interesting, thanks for sharing it!

I'd like to enter in the house to see how it is. Good eye you had here Guenther.

A nice tight crop around this fine old door, Günther - the bright red paint contrasts really well with the intricate artwork on the portal. Simple but beautiful. I think adding a frame using some of the predominant colors might enhance it a little (e.g. a thin border with the red color of the door, and a broader border using the white or ochre tone around the portal). Good shot!

Beautiful door entry. Great sharp, excellent compocition, excellent color and contrast, good light a bit overexpoced in the bottom right, but over all excellent.

Well captured, beautiful architectural details and colors. The door displays a beautiful ornate baroque roccoco architecture. Interesting contrast between the doorframe and the door itself. I wonder what the windowframes of this house look like. Wonderful composition.

Very nice detail, well cropped around the door frame. The contrast between the door and the frame is well presented. Very good Guenther

If that is an ordinary home, I'd like to see the fancy ones! I like this shot, with the ornate framing. It's quite a contrast between the ancient and the modern.

La porte est malheureuseent trop moderne pour un si bel encadrement mais cela donne un air tout à fait insolite qui mérite bien cette photo très réussie!
Bravo Guenther!

This door frame is incredibly complex ! It's a little pity that the door itself has been painted this way... I like the crop you used and the light and contrast are good. Very nice textures of the stones. Well done !

nice shot.. the frame is indeed elegant..the contrast between the old frame and the modern door is rather funny but still they two seem to go along perfectly..these Italians have arts all around them..
