Actually, I can't even say for sure what country it was...)
I only guess it was Italy.
This picture was taken on the plane from Barcelona to Moscow. As I remember, something like 40 min after take off. so, the triangle France-Switzerland-Italy seems to be more accurate location, although less precise.

That's just a beauitful sea of mountains. The low light, the haze and a bit of noise do certainly add to the idea of it being a sea.
Couldn't resist to post a cleaned-up version. But have to say that the original captivates more! ;-)

The irregular lines of these mountains are lovely! The fog and clouds between them make it a misterious place despite we can only see it from this upper view. You also did well to put this frame on it.
