Riomaggiore is a village and a commune in the province of La Spezia, situated in a small valley in the Liguria region of Italy. It is the first of the Cinque Terre one meets coming from La Spezia.
The Via dell'Amore is a path connecting Riomaggiore to its frazione Manarola, also part of the Cinque Terre.
This is the most famous and spectacular path. It was made, over the centuries, by those who used it to move from one village to another and in many parts it is a mule track.
The path from Riomaggiore to Monterosso is 12 km long and reaches a height of 200 metres. The itinerary is mostly made up of paths (8 km), and mule tracks (2 km) while the remaining kilometres are made up of the Via dell'Amore and streets inside the villages.
The water and mountainside have been declared national parks.

Très beau village, coloré bien encaissé dans sa vallée, les contrastes sont magnifiques.
Bravo et belle soirée

i've been in 5 terre some years ago but i haven't realize it was so photogenic. Beautiful the patchwork of bright colors in the houses but what i mostly like in your picture is the repeated V-shaped lines (The shape of the town borders is almost the same as the valley shape in the background).
Only a little remark, i don't like the little slice of sky at the top. Is too small, it has been better without it.

I really like this picture. I was drawn to it not only because is so vivid and colourful but also because of POV. It gives a great sense of space and thickness of this village. You see coutries that you visit through most kindly and full of life kind of way and that makes them for us even more closer. TFS!
Best regards, Jeri
