[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken last year in Siena, this flag is the emblem of the Lupa district, or Contrada, one of 17 wards that make up the ancient city.

Every year there is a famous & spectacular horse-race around the main square (il Campo) in the city, watched by thousands of spectators on two dates, one in july & another in august. the race is one of the traditions of the city, dating back to the 17th century.

Taken with my film camera, I've cropped & sharpened this shot, I liked how the flag appeared in the afternoon sunlight.

Hi Peter.
Bella foto molto evocativa.
Complimenti
Renzo

I like it, Peter, efficient composition and PP to enhance the beautiful flag, excellent result esp. taking into account the angle of the sun, regards, Daniel

Hi Peter,
The light of the evening makes shine the colors of the flag, emphasizing it on the front that shows us his textures and a few nice shades.
Good setting, you manage to give many graphism to the composition.
Regards,
Josep

The flag stands out very well against the stones of the building. Looking at the shadows, indicating the sun's direction, this must have been a difficult shot to get the exposure correctespecially on the white flag. Well done.

Hi Peter,
Indeed, the lighting is great on the flag and facade of the building. A crisp clear shot, well framed and tightly cropped. Good shadow effects further enhance. Have a good week, Peter.

Hi, Peter.
Strong compo, with vivid colors. The balance between FG and BG is very good.
Regards and TFS.

Hello Peter.
I know of this race...I'm sure this district would be quite proud with your representation of their flag. The tones in this film are excellent...the color is completely natural. This is a good perspective as well, there is a nice upward movement felt by me when looking at this shot.
Regards,
Chris.

:) tomorrow.

Hi Peter.

The colours and the sharpness are amazing! Nice POV and unusual for this special day in the Tuscany!

Hi Peter,
wonderful colours of the flag on "Siena brown" background. I like the composition very much.
Have a nice day,
Tomi

Hi Peter - I agree the angle of the sun has dramatically increased the appeal of the flag, the windows also look charming in the bg.

Attractive framing here Peter. You got the flag nicely in the corner and used the attractive facing of the building to fill in the rest of the frame.
