Photographer’s Note

This picture I took in the city of Siena, Italy.
Surrounded by olive groves and the vineyards of Chianti, Siena is one of the most beautiful cities of Tuscany. Set on three hills, the city is drawn together by winding alleyways and steep steps, whilst the Piazza del Campo stands at its heart, and the Duomo and St Maria della Scala serve as additional cultural landmarks.

When I passed this window I suddenly had a feeling of being watched. I turned around and saw this woman behind the curtain. But very soon I saw that the woman and her curtains were made out of stone.
The one who designed this, was bound to trick the passing pedestrians. Very funny idea....and it works!

Hi Nel,
This photograph looks so Italian! Beautiful capture of this building and the "woman" who is watching you. I especially like the colours of the blue windows at the top of the photo and the downward hill at the bottom from which you took this photo. Very good shot!

Hoi Nel, leuke foto van deze gevel met gluurster.
Zij houd echt alles in de gaten.
Trouwens wat een prachtige stevige houten deur zit er in dit gebouw.

Hi Nel,
This is a very interesting photo - I had to look twice to see that the window and curtains were stone. Fun! The POV is very good here. Well done. To my eye, the photo is a bit washed out, though. Some enhancement with photo software, such as PhotoShop, would make this pop out more, IMHO. I have taken a stab at it with PS, putting the result in the Workshop. Please let me know what you think of my attempts.

Hi Nel,
a note of beauty in a photograph,who watching you without you can say nothing.The POV is very good here and the colours and light are great Well done.
