The deserted beach of Lido di Ostia.
Most beaches in Lido di Ostia are not public – they belong to companies that rent little beach houses. In this (March) off-season period a major operation was taking place - the removal of the upper layer of the beach and the adding of a fresh layer of sand, pumped in from the sea bottom. This involved large bore pipes and caterpillars. The beach looked a bit like an industrial site. In the part of the beach where this picture was shot the new layer of sand was in place. All the little beach houses were boarded up, except one. One wonders why.
PS-E tech: rotated, sharpened, saturated and a pole cloned out. Some shadow-parts of the picture are treated with the dodge brush. The rust on the metal fences is enhanced with the burn brush. Saved for the web.

Another good abandoned beach shot. Nice colors. Again th lighting has and the beach itself here have a cold look to it and adds to the overall abandoned feel. The way all the paddle boats are neatly put away adds to that feeling. This little house adds a touch of welcoming to the overall abandoned mood of the photo. Good composition and nicely done.

I´m a fan of everything about Italy! This picture remainds me a film: death in Veneza. Good photo.

Het ziet er daar een goed privé strand uit Bert, de blauwe kleuren geven een extra tint aan de foto, en mooi scherp. Bedankt voor alles.

Erg goede foto Bert,

Mooi die lijnen van kleuren, good cropping too, fine note too. Goed gedaan.

Jolie composition, une belle palette de bleus et quelques partie rouges qui réhaussent le tout. Goed gezien !

Well done ! The contrast between colors of beach houses and the color of the sand is interesting, as the series of houses and pedalos on the background : well composed !
