Photographer's Note
This is another shot taken in a very misty Venice.
I like to think that the man in the photo is standing there anxiously waiting for his date to come down, while his gondola 'floats' double-parked in this small canal.
While the large canals in Venice are magnificent, I think that the small 'back street' canals have their own beauty.
Changes made to this photo:-
1. Re-scanned at 600 dpi to enlarge the main section of the photo.
2. Rotated: 1.5 degrees left.
3. Cropped away dark areas left and right.
4. Resized for TE and sharpened.
5. Added noise: 20% uniform.
6. Contrast +15. Brightened +6.
7. Added small border.

Good caption. It makes the photo even more interesting. The noise you added creates a lot of atmosphere in this shot. I like it.

Your processing is very very interesting, Andrew, and I like the moody result. Back "streets" are interesting, indeed. The pale light is very effective, as the sark earth colors. I am not sure about the noise.
There are some optional moods that can fit this shot. I like yours, but i tried to create another one. See my WS. Well done, Andrew.

What a great atmosphere!
Your post-processing work really works. And of course the subject itself is very nice. Very well done.

A great mood in this one, Andrew. Very intresting post-processing on this shot, but I like the result. Also, I like the framing of the canal, with the very dominant facades of the buildings on the right, and the more relaxed pedestrian walkways in front of the buildings on the left. A nice scene, well captured.

This is an interesting Instamatic picture. I like the grain here. looks like a impressionist painting.

This is very artistic. I must say that your post-processing is of professional caliber. The colors are very good too and your composition is unique. Your subject is situated in a very interesting part of the frame. Very well-done.

Another shot of Venice where this graininess really works well. It grings out the darkness of the day well, especially with the dark water and gondolas. Nicely done.

L'ajout de bruit ici donne un très bon résultat et l'image me fait pensé à une vieille carte postale.
C'est bien vu Andrew

I love the noise you've added, Andrew. It enhances the romantic feel. And it being Venice . . . perfect!

The grainy effect leads to an impression of a painting also with the dark light setting. I like it - a strange pix.
