Photographer’s Note
View on Florence's old city center. The enormous cuppola of the duomo, the famous Santa Maria del Fiore, and the marble covered campanile feature prominently amidst the red tiled rooftops. Such a pity of the scaffolding around the cuppola, but hard to avoid nowadays.

Great colors and detail. I think the scaffolding even add something to the shot, like a reminder that these are ancient buildings in a modern time.

Hi Huub,
Hoe dan ook, prima foto!
Groetjes,
Lars

Beautiful light and dramatic sky captured very well indeed Huub! Shame about that scaffolding, but as you say you couldn't do anything about that.:)

Yes, it’s pity the works in top of the dome, although it’s not too serious in the appreciation of the cityscape. The place looks fantastic with all those old houses and is surely great to visit. Regarding the frame I think it would have been nice to frame a bit lower. That would reduce the amount of sky, putting the cathedral in a more important position in the composition and show more of the city.

Beautiful city. I was there only recently. So much scaffolding around as they try to maintain the old architecture. Well captured in your image.
