Bernini's Angel Photo

Photographer’s Note

I took this picture of one of the magnificient Bernini Angel sculptures that pave the bridge leading the the famous Castel San'Angelo in Rome. It was a beautiful, clear day, and I enjoyed the whirl of the cloud echoing the Baroque twists and turns of the angel's garment. (I didn't have a digital camera at the time, I used the scanned picture here)

Great idea.. angel with a bit of sky.. looking upwards is the right perspective here. Nice work Sarolta.

Nice POV. The only cloud seems to coat the head of the sculpture. Nice composition for this kind of photo.

Very impressive low POV! Nice addition of the sky! Nice shot

PS: Be careful with the noise, especially at the sky. Use Neatimage to fix it :)

Wonderful shot...I love sky contrasts in detail (as you can see in my gallery)...and I'm from Rome too and I'm very happy with this shot...anyway it's "Castel San'Angelo" not "Castello di Angelo" ;)

this is one of the better pictures i ahev seen so far....wonderful technically and the title is so wonderfully apt...the shot taken against the sky does go well wityh the title and the sculpture itself (ANGEL)....Wonderful perspective and very relevant title....great job!

Beautiful capture, Sarolta! This is an original view of the statuer, a remarkable one I must admit!
Yeah, I loved Rome too, with all the architecture and sculptures and vast history...and all with the Italian mentality added to it even more...a magnificent city.
