Through the window, darkly Photo

Photographer’s Note

Obviously taken in Venice. I really wanted a face through the window, so waited for some time for someone to appear. This guy flitted by, and I clicked. I wish it was a face more characteristic of Venice, or wish the fellow was leaning out of the window....

I do not remember the lens, may have been 135mm.

Super image again, at least in the web version the face IMO doesn't matter, because it's too small, what matter more is his posture, somewhat hiding, somewhat unsure or suspicious. I like the composition of this shot and tonal range, lots of blacks really does it for me here.
If anything could improve this photo, that would perhaps be a girl jumping in the bridge, or a man on the boat with his back towards us wearing a hat that would be typical for Venice.

An old fashioned mood shot. Would look great in a thick black frame.

I don't know man. I like the composition, and you did well to wait for a man to appear in the window, and the high contrast and blurriness does give it that "old-fashioned" look, but it just doesn't click for me. Can't say what it is, but it needs something.

i love the whole picture, gives a kind of "old times" feeling!.. the guy's position is perfect, theres is nothing wrong with it imo..(gives a kind of voyeur feeling in a way..) would be nicer in a thick black frame i agree with John. (well, thats my choice of course..)
i really like this shot Animesh.. a good work as usual..

Very nice composition, event if the quality of the picture seems not very good. I like very much your hard black tones and the way that the figure appears at the window.
My english is not very good, and I don't know what does IMO mean. Could you explain, please ?
