Photographer's Note

Monteluco 800 m.s.l.m. was a sacred mountain (Lucus) since ancient times, inhabited by hermits during the first millennium of Christianity.
Kingdom to the city from the spectacular "Ponte delle Torri" combines the city of Spoleto à almost entirely covered by a thick ilex than in steep slopes is monospecific.

In 1218 St. Francis obtained by the hermit monks of Monteluco the chapel of Santa Caterina, where today stands the Franciscan Sanctuary.
To see the church, dedicated to St. Francis and St. Catherine, the convent, and still the tiny cells and the stone used by the saint as a couch; the caves where they stayed several saints and the view of the magnificent valley of Spoleto.
