Usigni

On the road leading from Poggiodomo in Monteleone di Spoleto rises a rugged hill where lies the town of Usigni, a hamlet of Poggiodomo (PG). It is a small mountain village (1,001 m) of the Nera Valley, mostly famous for having given birth to Fausto Cardinal Poli (1581-1652), very influential at the court of Urban VIII. The buildings are concentrated in the central part of the country with two or three storey buildings, mostly of seventeenth-century origin and intended by Cardinal Pole, culminating in the church of San Salvatore.
