The Pons Fabricius (Italian: Ponte Fabricio, meaning "Fabricius' Bridge") or Ponte dei Quattro Capi, is the oldest Roman bridge in Rome, Italy, still existing in its original state. Built in 62 BC, it spans half of the Tiber River, from the Campus Martius on the east side to Tiber Island in the middle (the Pons Cestius is west of the island). Quattro Capi ("four heads") refers to the two marble pillars of the two-faced Janus herms on the parapet, which were moved here from the nearby Church of St. Gregory (Monte Savello) in the 14th century.
According to Dio Cassius, the bridge was built in 62 BC, the year after Cicero was consul, to replace an earlier wooden bridge destroyed by fire. It was commissioned by Lucius Fabricius, the curator of the roads and a member of the gens Fabricia of Rome. Completely intact from Roman antiquity, it has been in continuous use ever since.
The Pons Fabricius has a length of 62 m, and is 5.5 m wide. It is constructed from two wide arches, supported by a central pillar in the middle of the stream. Its core is constructed of tuff. Its outer facing today is made of bricks and travertine.

You chose a very nice angle exactly beside the old bridge.
Also the buildings in background make these picture attractive.
Colors and archtecture are plesant for look at.
Very well composition, nice presentation too.
Thanks for sharing.

Colpo eccellente, grazie.
Tutto il meglio

your pictures evoke memories of my last visit in "Eternal City".This one is well considered and composed.I like your POV with the bridge on the right leading our eyes towards the architecture on the other side of Tiber river. Also these tree branches in the foreground add some pleasant accent to the composition.
Have a good day

Ciao Romano ,

a special POV that shows off the magnificence of this bridge so beautifully. Love the sharp curve and the way it entices the viewer to traverse into the City beyond. Love the framing and the light here is so tantalising. A stunning place captured perfectly.
Have a good week - Brian.

very good POV makes this photo definietly interesting. I like how the bridge dominates the whole composition without overwhelming the scene. Tiny branches lighten up the image and frame it neatly from above. Nice sky as a background and also some quite interesting buildings. Very good light and colors.

You have found a really good POV to provide us with such a lovely presentation. The bridge and the architecture captured in the background look very nice from that sight. The good light supported you in taking that shot so the details are well visible. Thanks for sharing.

This shot reveals a lot of natural skill. You have used the bridge for interest, for fine textural datail and as a guide to the b/g buildings.
Excellent use of light and shade.
My warm regards,

Its all about immense depth and perspective that make the shot extremely attractive, well balanced taken from the best spot to highlight the intricate detail of the old stone bridge and its surrounding. The image is composed with a great mastery, detail and execution are spot-on. Great piece of photography. Congrats
