This is a shot that I have considered posting on many occasions but have been unable to find any information about it. It is a most enigmatic plaque, fastened to a wall in the Bardini Garden, Florence. Maybe someone who lives in Italy will be able to enlighten me.
The Bardini Garden covers 4 hectares and is situated between the Piazzale Michelangelo and the Giardino di Boboli in Oltrarno, across the river from the historic centre of Florence.
The Bardini Garden is not as famous as the nearby Boboli Garden, but it is much quieter, has a very romantic atmosphere and a varied layout.
I will show a view of part of the garden in a w/s.
Many thanks for stopping by, Bev :-)

You used fine light and a well chosen angle to capture this beautiful plaque in great detail. What an intriguing scene is depicted here! I like the geometric grid in which you placed it too.
We alas didn't visit this garden during our Florence trip so I alas can't help you.
Have a fine weekend :-)

I really like this because of its geometric lines and use of shape. The three blue jewels (?) add a focal point of interest that attracts the eye too.
Nice image TFS

C'est une superbe plaque de bronze et tous ces personnages sont représentés dans une attitude de surprise? ils semblent tous regarder vers le même point et portent des bijoux qui se ressemblent. C'est intriguant et l'effet est très réussi.

I love the tones in this image which is at the same time quite an interesting piece of artwork. You took a a good pov emphasising the way in which they are looking so fixated. Clearly they must be witnessing a miracle or something of that mangnitude! What spoils your photo a bit is the shadow runing from top left to bottom right.
Thanks for sharing and good luck with your quest!

A nice close-up on the ancient plaque, Beverley.

The WS photo is no-less beautifully composed, with excellent dep[th and clarity.
