Photographer's Note
ENGLISH: Continuing my virtual tour of Campania, here is another of the series of photos I took from the cliffs of Sorrento. I have previously uploaded photos of this area, this one was taken just before dawn. In the photo you can the island of Ischia on the left and on the right is the volcano, Mt Vesuvius. Mt Vesuvius is called by locals as Il Gigante - The Giant.

Ciao Lisa!
Beautiful and very interesting picture!
The cloudy sky was wonderfully photographed by you and was harmoniously placed in the frame!
The presence of the distant Vesuvius is also welcome and added a lot of beauty to the scene!
TFS - congrats,
Cheers,

Ciao cara Lisa,
A beautiful photograph whih has really instilled in me a desire to go to the sea again and explore and look for pictures. And, actually, this is a picture which reminds me so very much of John Masefield's poem, "Sea Fever":
"I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by,
And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking,
And a gray mist on the sea's face, and a grey dawn breaking.
"I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.
"I must go down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull's way and the whale's way, where the wind's like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover,
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick's over."
But perhaps that poem's not quite in the same vein as the peacefulness and serenity of this fine picture. I wouldn't actually call this picture "abstract" but, rather, "serene", the busy sky adding some drama but the calm, smooth sea lessening it and allowing the pinnacle of "Il Gigante" take pride of place in the picture.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hello dear Lisa,
Wonderful panoramic shot bringing together Mt. Vesuvius and Capri. So, "Il Gigante", I can imagine had other names some 1933 years ago, I can imagine other names the inhabitants called it.
Have a wonderful weekend,

Ciao cara Lisa,
What we can see here is all blue. Blue Capri (Do you remember Capri, this night in sweet flag? Polish song. ) and Vesuvius is really Gigante. Fantastic shot.
Have a nice weekend.

Quasi l'alba ....
Io quasi al "definitivo" tramonto.
Mi sento vecchio in TE.

Rhapsody in Blue. A gorgeous grey-blue too. The feeling of depth you have presented in the clouds is super Lisa, they seem to leave the frame and continue over my head. And what a shot, a subtle wash of blue tones and textures form the sea, the merest hint of land save for Il Gigante and then the sky. A shot to be studied to be appreciated. Lovely stuff! Warm regards Rosemary

Hi Lisa
Interesting blue dominant colour in the blue hour.
I feel a peaceful ambiance in this area far from noisy towns.

Ciao Lisa
A dark, moody & mysterious atmosphere captured here, pretty much like the temperamental volcano itself. Superb sharpness & the minimalist blue color is superb. I like the contorted cloud patterns in the sky. And the horizon is level! Tfs!

hi lisa,
this is a wonderful view over the sea and vesuvius which dominates the horizon. the atmosphere is created by the amazing range of blue tones. the sky is amazing with the cloud formations appearing almost 3D in nature. like a beautiful impressionist painting.

Hi Lisa,
There's certain charm on this minimalism. It really is like a painting. I think you got the blue tone perfectly right. Framing gives good room for those fluffy clouds. And I'm sure Vesuvius is quite recognizable for those who have been there.

Ciao Lisuzza,
Un abbraccio...e buon WE

Ciao cara Diavolina,
Complimenti!
Ciao, buona settimana dal tuo Generale Monello! :-)

Hello Lisa,
Totally in the blue mood, only missing soundtrack from Miles Davies now.
The sky is very good and provides a real bonus to this view.
Perhaps it is missing a bit of contrast, but I guess it should be difficult to reach the right setting without doing local masking to have a good balance.

Hi Lisa
A good blue hour shot with excellent motion effect, I thought it had a kind of dream like feel to it. Such an atmospheric, soft and almost surreal image you have created. The positioning of the distant island on the horizon holds the eye so well. A beautiful painterly feel, the tones are delicate and very pretty which works so well. Well done
Warm regards

TFS!

Ciao Dear Lisa!
Wow! Simply breathtaking! I'm sure those clouds pretty much did a lot of wonderful things to pull off this image! Love the serene, peaceful and calm scene, very immaculate! Well captured! TFS!
best regards
Matt
P.S. If I were to give an award, I shall bestow you with a "natural" photographer award as I sense that your images are given less PP, as if you post this image as soon as you capture it, fresh! -that's the way I feel it- I really admire your work! geez, seems I missed a lot of action from a week and a half break from TE. Anyway, seize the day! Keep safe!
