Photographer's Note

The town of Bolzano in northern Italy has a large old city centre with narrow cobblestone streets and colorful old buildings. It belonged to Austria until 1918, so both Italian and German are spoken here. This street is called Franziskanergasse.

Hi Vincent,
This is indeed a very pleasant and beautiful city. You have achieved a very good effect here with all the window shutters and all the vertical lines between the buildings. We were also here a year ago (in May), mainly to visit the interesting museum with Ötzi the Iceman.

Hi Vincent

I like the shadows on the wall at left thrown by the open window shutters. Good sharpness, color & saturation. These narrow alleys are difficult to photograph with oe in the highlights or underexposure in the shadows but shadow detail is excellent at right & the little oe there is is negligible. Tfs!

Les façades colorées de Bolzano sont un plaisir pour les yeux mais les différences de lumière sont un casse-tête pour le photographe. Tu as réussi à bien équilibrer ombre et lumière dans cette belle photo de cette jolie rue de la ville.
