The Ponte Vecchio ("Old Bridge")is a Medieval stone closed-spandrel segmental arch bridge over the Arno River, in Florence, Italy, noted for still having shops built along it, as was once common. Butchers initially occupied the shops; the present tenants are jewellers, art dealers and souvenir sellers. The Ponte Vecchio's two neighbouring bridges are the Ponte Santa Trinita and the Ponte alle Grazie. Wikipedia

One can simply not get enough of Florence, then Tuscany, and finally all of Italy. It makes an entirely complementary shot to the image I posted of From Ponte Vecchio to Santa Croce. More than anyone else perhaps, Vasari, one of the great sons of Florence, saved the Ponte Vecchio. Then in the closing days of WWII, as the German troops retreated, they blew up all the bridges except the Ponte Vecchio.
A few days ago I heard the news of an Australian mining and mineral company that is planning to mine the deep ocean for precious metals. Have you heard about these plans.
Incidentally, yesterday my website acquired a new "Map Counter." Can I impose on you to click on Plant a Flag of Australia. There were about ten flags earlier today, but none from Australia.
Warm regards and a Happy Easter to you and your family.

The reflections on the water of the river are assets to the composition. Le length of the rivers is giving depth to the scene. The point of view is allowing me to see the details and colors of the ponte Vecchio. a good management of the light which does not hurt the output of the colors. Have a nice day.

A fine mini panorama of this very famous bridge. I think the lawn along the river adds the required colour boost to the image and helps to frame the reflections well. Must look good at night all lit up as well. TFS.
