Photographer's Note
On the route to the Monte Rosa summit several crevasses are near the trail. Althought it is fairly easy, the usual attention deserved to a mountain climb should be paid.
The one shown in the photo is actually the route that departs from the Monte Rosa trail and goes to the Piramide Vincent summit, one of the several "above 4000" summits of the area.
The picture was taken with a 5 Mpixel Canon Ixus. Bought few years ago, it is good for a museum now.

Hello Stefano,
I was a long time you did not post a mountain shot. Good composition with the crevasse , the track and the 2 peoples giving the scale.
The lightning was not so good, I guess a big sun around mid-day what induced a not so easy tuning for the contrast. I mean the contrast is strong but there is still large grey area, even if you reached a good compromise here.
Yves.

Ciao Stefano,
This could be a still from an old bl/w horror movie -
and I absolutely LOVE old bl/w horror movies!
What evil creatures is looming below, waiting for the ice to thaw?
Do these brave explorers have any idea of just what danger looms out there?
Terrific!

Hi Stefano
Its always a brave job to summit because of the adrenaline it needs with all these holes and falls into the snow and often times a snowslides. A wonderful capture in b/w. Nice shot

ciao stefano,
on the "thumbnail moment" you find it a minimalistic photo...
once you open it up to the full size - you experience a lot of interesting details which "tell the story" about the place... yet still - quite plain, quite a "raw" image and thus - making a difference...
best, j.

Amazing shot Stefano,
the climbers in the background give a sense to the grand scale of the cravasse. This is a good example of how you can take great photos without having the best equipment.
Cheers!
