Photographer’s Note

On the way from the ski resorts down to the motorway (It. Autostrada) you drive via numerous cosy small towns. They seem to be empty in January, ebendoned, quiet. But...its not truth - there is life behind closed doors and windows.

I got inspired by one of our TE-mates with this type of presentations of the photographs. I am very curious what you think about it?

You play a little with the black frame and the result is almost a graphism.
I'm curious: why the holes ???

The different colourtints and the long shadows on the front give a nice composition, I agree with Gix, I'm curious: why the holes ?

Always good light for window shot, oblique angle. I like the sharp contrast and play of shadows on this one. Looks rather like a poster. Nice careful shot.

I love the lines and the colours in this, and it is the kind of detail that photographs well. But I think the black frame would have been better left out - or replaced by a thin white one.

Good framing through the frame is a bit thick. Nice colors and patterns.

BTW, I like the way you crop your picture in your profile page.

Jurek, bardzo me sie ta fotografie podoba, co za piekna kombinacja roznych kolorow, ksztaltow i powierzchni. Swiatlo tez piekne, daje dlukie cienie ktore wplywaja korzystnie na ten image.

Czy to Ania (Kuan) zainsparowala Cie do takiej presentacji? Kilke jej zdjec jest z podobna, gruba ramka, ale w mojej opini takie ramki nie zawsze pasuja. Jej zdjecia sa kwadratowe i prostsze, taka ramka pasuje tam, to zdjecie jest bardziej skomplikowane i w mojej opini prosta, cienka biala ramka by lepiej pasowala.

I am always drawn to dynamic lighting in images. I also love the colors too. Lovely shadows

Rien à redire sur l'exposition et le cadrage, par contre, l'encadrement noir est à mon gout beaucoup trop épais, même si il contribue à faire ressortir le soleil innondant les façades.

Excelent colors, details and sharpness. The play of light and shadows is very nice. I like the thick border but i would prefer that it did not mix with the shadows of the photo. My advise would be to place a 1px border, then a 2px light color border and after the large one.

Hi Jerzy,
As it happens, I've discovered your "Sweet" series. It is all nice and interesting, and I picked this photo as the best for me. It is very graphical and artistic. Great light and colours, very good use of asymetry. Very well done!
