Photographer’s Note
This was taken in the Palazzo Medici-RRiccardi in Florence Italy, home of the Medici family from 1444-1540. This is a closeup on a small portion of a huge painted ceiling in the Sala di Luca Giordano room, painted by the Neapolitan artist Apotheosis of the Medici, in splashy baroque style. The room was simply stunning with gilt carvings and painted mirrors adorning the walls and the entire ceiling painted with scenes similar to this closeup. I was really impressed by the vibrant colors despite the age of the paintings.

Sharp and well exposed photo of art masterpiece. This type of painting always was a puzzle to me how they could do it so well.

Clear photo with vibrant colors! Wow you can even see the small cracks in the paint. I think this would make a nice print to frame.

Once Callie (cdewet) a TE member, critiquing one of my first photos I Posted on this site, wrote: "Lasly, when one photograph art - so called other peoples work - try and add something from yourself, a person, a scarf around the neck etc, otherwise it is just a copy of the art. These are not meant as critiues, but general things to consider when shooting such scenes".
I thought about these words and I was agree with them.

Hi Julie, a very nice presentation of an art masterpiece. The right crop and the colors look really good. I do not agree with Zanni, the rest of can learn about art in the world by this kind of art photo's. We can learn about art the best if the presentation is good, to fully see the context of it you still have to visit the place.
Good shot, nice crop and good detail!
Btw: I think it's hard to add a person to the ceiling ;-)

Hi Julie,
This is nice. The colours are amazing, and it's quite sharp.
I also tried to take some photo's of paintings, but there were quite bad; really a shame. But you did a good job here. Do you have a secret technic method?
