04/18/1960: this could also be the date of this release. We are in the main square of Mirabella Imbaccari (CT) and surprisingly there are no modern elements, no cars, chaos and traffic, just peace and quiet and a gentle warmth that invites you to stay out for a chat.

Fanno mi pensare del mio caro papa, ha 83 anni, chi ancora incontra i suoi amici Italiani alla nostra piazza per il caffe e la chiaccerata. Ha un amico forte qui di Palermo e parlano una lingua Napoleta-Siciliano :) Come hai detto nella tua nota, l'immagine e senza tempo, piena di nostalgia. Ottima la scelta di B&N. For that, the people's clothes, their usual meeting and talking, black & white for the borders and the image and composition avoiding more modern details were very suitable and welcome! Hi Giorgio, at first glance I really believed it belonged to 1960s. Then I understood the reality by reading your note. The costumes and body languages of those gentlemen tell us that we are in a Mediterranean country. It can be anywhere in Turkey, in Portugal, or in Spain.

sei stato sgamato da Mauro con la stmbella ortopedica, nulla toglie a questa FANTASTICA scenetta in una delle piazze della provincia siciliana, una foto ben bilanciata con la presenza del terzetto a dx e delle figure in secondo piano.Come sempre una gradevolissima immagine e poi in questo sei specializzato.

un'atmosfera anni '60, come giustamente scrivi nel titolo. E' strardinario come in certi piccoli paesi il tempo possa fermarsi a tal punto. Sta poi ad un bravo fotografo ricarvarne un foto che abbia una simile magia. Ottimo in B&W. Bello anche il dinamismo della scena.

un bel raffronto, o meglio, parallelismo, con quella che poteva essere la stessa scena circa 50 anni fa... a ben guardare, solo la stampella dell'uomo seduto in panchina denuncia l'epoca recente della foto.
Ma in effetti hai congelato una situazione che probabilmente vedremo ancora nella stessa maniera anche per gli ulteriori cinquant'anni.
Ottima idea, mi piacciono queste foto pensate e ben proposte e realizzate.

stupendo b/n di vita di piazza. Questi anziani sembrano attori in un teatro di piazza, ma forse lo sono veramente, nel teatro della piacevole vita di paese, dove il tempo scorre ancora lento, dove non è ancora arrivata la competitività e la frenesia della città. Fai bene a pubblicare queste immagini, a testimonianza di un modo di vivere che purtroppo sta scomparendo. Non ne sbagli una, bravissimo!

c'è un elemento di modernità.
Il bastone del signore seduto è di tipo recente. Negli anni '60 erano in giunco :)

Comunque devo ammettere che la foto rende davvero molto l'idea di antico.
L'elaborazione è fatta con ottima sapienza.

Ma non avrai pagato questi signori per assumere le pose che hanno? :))

Immagine-icona di un tempo immoto negli anni. Tredici uomini fermi nella piazzetta. Non una donna, non una sola. Tutte a casa, a lavare i calzini di questi signori, e preparare loro il sugo per la pasta. Dissento, ovviamente. Ma ciò non toglie che io trovi questa tua foto bellissima, nella sua a-temporale (alfa privativa) immobilità. Uno scatto da super-fotografo. Se fosse stato in Sicilia, avrebbe potuto realizzarlo Cartier-Bresson.

C'est vrai que cette photo aurait très bien pu être prise en 1960. Le traitement en B&W est excellent pour mettre en valeur l'atmosphère d'une autre époque. Excellente composition qui rappelle les grands photographes de l'époque.

But this picture can only be translate the way you did with your observation. This photo is more than just composing picture, it's the result from a great eye of a photographer...

Me gusta el título de la foto, sería una fecha realmente adecuada a la escena, y me gusta la foto, que tiene un ligero toque dramático que recuerda alguna película del neo-realismo italiano.

very good idea. It doea really look like an old photograph. The B&W enhanced this mood. Older people as well although older people does not need to mean that the picture is old. Yet their clothes are may be also a bit old stylish.

Credo che sto per prendere antidepressivi perché sento che l'estate sarà lungo... Mi manchi già, tu, le tue foto e tutti questi anziani siciliani. Spero che continuerai a prendere foto quest'estate.
Non vediamo mai questo tipo di scene in Francia. Gli anziani sono molto più chiusi qui eccetto nel sud dové giocano un po' alla bocce. Una foto senza tempo dové c'è una meraviglia atmosfera di complicità. Sei l'unico a proporre foto come quella su questo sito... Dove sono i miei antidepressivi... ;)

uno scatto molto bello ed interessante da un alto punto di vista che con ottima profondita' ci offre una tranquila scena di vita quotidiana. Mi piace tanto la diversita' di tonalita' grigie e come i signori sono presentati in tante differenti posture e svolti in direzioni diverse. Mi sembra che ci sia un' intensita' sottocorrente ed evidentemente c'e' collegamento ed amicizia. Forse stanno aspettando qualcosa, mi sembrano come il coro di un' opera teatrale greca antica. Superbo lavoro, complimenti e grazie!

An elevated shot about people getting about their life in the street without intrusion and great that you have captured the real moment without them even knowing you are there. Intriguing to see their behavior and body language in their natural manner, sharp and well spread out while the choice in mono gives a cleaner and more simplified image without colors to confuse the viewers and importantly this picture has a certain charm to it with proper treatment I has the feeling of retro world back in time atmosphere that that excels the eyes.
