Photographer’s Note
My First Kiss was on the Walls that surround the city Treviso.
This was taken on the Walls that surround the city of Treviso, originally built to protect the city are now used for recreation.
Beautiful, tranquil garden like setting, trees, green grass, paths, people strolling, cycling along, others walking their dog, returning from work, people on seats resting, this couple, oblivious to the goings on around them were making love, yes making love, but not as we in Australia mean it but making love as the Italians mean it, that is courting.
Just prior to this, one of the TE members from Treviso told me that the first time he had kissed a girl was on this very same wall, I don’t want to embarrass him by mentioning his name but Paolo I hope it brings back memories.

Hello Santo...a beautiful moment..love the timing on this one..i had to be a conversion to make it more effective..i am not sure about f5.3 though..i think the people leaving the scene add a strong element too..dont know how close you were..was this a 200mm or you were standing just there..and it could be a 50mm shot...
either way you were sneak-peeking or invading privacy(just kidding)..but why not..if you come up with such a brilliant moment...

Ciao Santo,
Eheheheh! Chissà oggi dopo tanti anni, quella bambina ormai donna...
Bella immagine in ottimo bianco e nero.
Un caro saluto dalla Sicilia!

Hi:) Great change for the BW, I believe it's much better than the colourful version. You've caught the scene very well, he composition is half dynamic, half static, which I adore:)

Hello Santo,
A magic moment captured in that split second. I like the diagonal position of their entwined bodies, contrasting to the vertical lines of the trees and the group of people to the right.
Kind regards,

Santo, I like this picture a lot, the contrast and the B&W rendition suits it so well. The sunlit halo's around their heads add a mystique to the scene. I have done a workshop to try a different crop though.

Hello Santo,
So many different comments come to mind looking at this capture, there is so much happening here. You know what I like the best, the small cloud of backlit dust coming from the people walking away. Ah, I can't help myself, always the romantic.
Lovely shot my friend.

Your series of b+w is really attractive as I am shooting a lot with film now. This is simply top class where you have anchored those couple so well in the frame. The walking passer by balances so well against the dreamy backlight. Clever focusing and light and shadow management. Best regards.

Ciao Santo.
Ciao.
Bobo.

Hi Santo,
Even though they look too old to be having their first kiss, they look so hot, as if it were indeed their first time ;P
Nice story here, with all those passers by. Looking at the sky part at the top right, i feel there was a problem in the b&w curve during the pp. Anyway, the image is much worth stopping by.

Deniz

HI Santo, well seen and executed image. I like the two contrasting compsitional elements, the couple and the group walking away and the row of trees works well too, drawing the viewer down the path. Cheers, Steve

Hi !
Great scene.
Great position of the couple.
Passing people adds something to the contexte.
But I think the PP would be better : you tried to mask the white areas beetween the trees on the top. White, simply white, could be better, in my opinion. And the, did you try to crop in in a horizontal way, croping a little on the bottom (something on the left, near the bench, disturbe a little my eyes) and crop the bottom without showing entierely the trees ?
But it still a nice fotka.
I love the scenes about the love.
Best regards. Grazyna.

Ciao Caro Santo, you Italian men, I dunno :) I like the contrast of the 2 lovers smooching and the older more sensible people walking in the opposit direction. The backlighting really creates a beautiful and romantic mood as does the symmetry of the trees and their shadows in the BG. What a beautiful place to have your first kiss, may you and your lovely wife have many more there. Un abbraccio, Lisa.

Hello Santo,
Someone said that every photo must have a central subject and you have demonstrated this extremely well. The background is very exciting with the people walking away from you, stirring up the dust to create that 'mist', yet not enough to distract us from focusing the attention on the couple "making love". The highlight around her hair and body gives a perfect profile definition from the darker background. Excellent B&W, my friend.
You took this on top of the wall planted with huge trees, must be a really thick wall, thicker than the Great Wall of China I imagine.
Regards
Alfred

Ti sei messo a fare il guardone eh?
Beh, il risultato merita! Ottimo B/N e interessante contenuto.
Composizione perfetta.
Buona giornata,
Donato

Hi Santo. A photograph in the style of classic black and white photography. It has plenty of atmosphere. The special feature is the pair of lovers. Well done. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Hi Santo.
Terrific photo, that looks as though it could have been taken any time in the last 40 years - in fact, I thought for a moment it must be a scan of some old b/w print. Great composition and good crop to balance it nicely. I like the back-lit effect of the halos and those long shadows of the trees. Rather bold to place the couple right down there in bottom left but it works well. The picture has a great sense of depth. Those trees look magnificent.
Regards,
Andrew

Hi Santo
Your photographs from Italy are mostly Black and White although it's showing feelings of people. Love :-)
Probably only in Italy people know what the love is
and how to present it. Like in the photograph.
In my opinion there is another feeling presented on the photograph ...
These people going away from the loved couple ...
Well, that's life ...
Well done Santo. I'll be waiting for next your photograps from Italy (Black and White of course :-))
Take good care

Hello Santo,
Cyrille.
