Photographer’s Note
Manarola (Manaea in the local dialect) is a small town, a frazione of the comune (municipality) of Riomaggiore, in the province of La Spezia, Liguria, northern Italy. It is the second smallest of the famous Cinque Terre towns frequented by tourists.
A street in Manarola.
Manarola may be the oldest of the towns in the Cinque Terre, with the cornerstone of the church, San Lorenzo, dating from 1338. The local dialect is Manarolese, which is marginally different from the dialects in the nearby area. The name "Manarola" is probably dialectical evolution of the Latin, "magna rota". In the Manarolese dialect this was changed to "magna roea" which means "large wheel", in reference to the mill wheel in the town.
Manarola's primary industries have traditionally been fishing and wine-making. The local wine, called Sciacchetrà, is especially renowned; references from Roman writings mention the high quality of the wine produced in the region. In recent years, Manarola and its neighboring towns have become popular tourist destinations, particularly in the summer months. Tourist attractions in the region include a famous walking trail between Manarola and Riomaggiore (called Via dell'Amore, "Love's Trail") and hiking trails in the hills and vineyards above the town. - Wiki

Hello Asa,
On TE we find lots of pictures with views on this town but finally we get a picture taken inside the city.
While we catch a glimpse of the sea at the end of the long street, we do find several boats spread over the street with houses in all colours.
TFS, best regards, Paul

Hi Asa,
The point of view leads our eyes toward the buildings in the back ground which is giving depth and perspective to the composition. The presence of the people on the street has an effect of scale. The good luminosity is enhancing the pastel colors of the building. Have a nice day.

Hello Asa !
I think Manarola is not easy to photograph. There are the classic view from la Via dell'Amore and this one. Whan I visited Manarola, I didn't found others interesting points of view.
I like very much your photo : very nice colors and good sharpness. I did the same photo (same POV, same lens) but I haven't got a good result like your one.
No distorsion on your photo : good work Asa !
Have a good week.

A good long perspective along this street, which is full of life. The bright colours of the architecture make a lovely contrast with the beautiful blue sky. Very good sharpness.

très belle photo pleine de vie avec tous ces gens dans la rue qui profitent des rayons de soleil qui donne une superbe lumière, c'est original de voir des bateaux stationner dans la rue au lieu des voitures

Your high POV is perfect for showing the view right down the street with our eye carried all the way through the scene by the perspective. There are plenty of details to entertain us, especially the boats, which seem out of place. Well done

Hello Asa,
The sight in height makes converge the street the terraces and the roofs on a central point of the photograph, which gives an effect of depth and displacement. The image is of quality, clear and very precisely coloured. A place and an interesting note. Cheer.
Have a nice day.

hi Asa,
it's interesting (for me) that on the day you posted this image I was actually in Manarola taking pictures from this balustrade... =)
it's a nice, summery and colourful view of this village and it's interesting also because usually everybody takes shots of the houses from the marina.
great contrast and colours, too.

Hello Asa.
A good composition creating a good DOF with this street that seems to get lost in the distance, a nice color that of these houses that close to a great luminosity makes the photo very attractive.
Good weekend and cordial regards.
Luis.
