Photographer’s Note

This is a blue hour overview of the city of Florence taken from Fiesole.
Florence (Italian: Firenze, pronounced [fiˈrɛntse]; Old Italian: Fiorenza, Latin: Florentia) is the capital city of the Italian region of Tuscany and of the province of Florence. It is the most populous city in Tuscany and has a population of 367,569 (1,500,000 metropolitan area[3]).
The city lies on the River Arno and is known for its history and its importance in the Middle Ages and in the Renaissance, especially for its art and architecture. A centre of medieval European trade and finance, the city is often considered the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance; in fact, it has been called the Athens of the Middle Ages.[4] It was long under the de facto rule of the Medici family. From 1865 to 1870 the city was also the capital of the Kingdom of Italy.
The historic centre of Florence continues to attract millions of tourists each year and was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1982.

Hello Asa,
An interesting night time composition over this beautiful city. The cathedral is given due prominence and there is sufficient light and detail to take in the other main pieces of architecture.

Florence est en effet une ville superbe, immensément riche en oeuvres d'art et en architectures. Ton image nocturne est belle ; elle permet de voir le dôme de l cathédrale, son clocher et le haut des édifices l'entourant.

An interesting composition night, we see well in the background the cathedral.
A beautiful presentation of the city of Florence, very good light and clarity.
From couelur pretty house in the foreground and some architectural work the back, great depth of field anyway.

Hi Asa,

Using an exposure speed of 2 seconds is allowing us to see the details and colors of Florence at the blue hour. Did you use a tripod? The street lights, the lights of the buildings and the projector has a good effect on the composition. Well done, have a nice day.

Lovely blue hour shot over this beautiful city Asa! Great compo and colours. We were there in August and were just blown away by the richness of the architecture. Nice one!

Hi Asa. It'a a beautiful photo full of light and with a great ambience. The dome and the statue stands very nice.
I find it a little dark in some parts but cause no one else 'complains' I guess it's my monitor's problem. Still I made a WS for my eyes and for those with the same problem as me. Hope it's okay.
