Photographer’s Note

This picture was taken at the famous San Marco square at beautiful Venice. Manny people try to feed the pigeons by throwing corn seeds at the ground.
This young girl tried a diffent method. She placed pieces of corn in her mouth and let the birds feed on them. I found this very interesting when thinking about Christianity, as if kissing the Holy Ghost

Really a fun pic of tourist behavior into one of the most touristy place in the world...
Dof is well controled but 1- the pic could IMHO have been more effective with the tilt the other way (ie. going up)2- I hate the red shirt in the background.

I guess she's not aware of what pigeons are usually feeding on our cities... :0( perhaps that would have been less romantic to her...

I love her expression. Good composition and good light. Colours are nice and clear in natural mode.

Though it's slightly underexposed, this is a very good picture.
The subject of the picture, stand out from the busy background which is not an easy thing to achieve, the colors are just fantastic and the scene is dynamic which is always a plus.
I post a workshop to clarify my comments.

Hi Udi,

Nice capture. The red shirt behind an unfortunate distraction, but that can easily be dealt with in PS.

Why on earth would anyone wish to kiss these disease ridden vermin is beyond me. Horses for courses I suppose! :-)

A very good shot, Udj.
I like the composition, with the girl not in the middle and the palace a little inclined, that abstracts even more the subject from the backdrop. The girl seems posing and if not you caught a great moment. :)
Finally, I hope the girl didn't kissed the pigeon, because Venice's pigeons are really not so healthful... :)
