The Vatican City, independent sovereign state since 1929 (Lateran Pacts), rises on the site where St. Peter was martyred and buried.
The Basilica of St. Peter’s offers one of the most impressive experiences of architectural space available anywhere.

PPhotographs cannot convey the impact on the visitor of the vastness of the structure, of the splendid decorations and works of art it contains.
The church is also famous for its almost total absence of paintings, substituted with mosaics by the Vatican School.

In this pic you can see the rapresentation of Holy Gost, above the main altar, in a fantastic and really suggestive glass wall in the heart of the basilica.

Great shot Roberta especially the colors!! But I didnt like the central framing too much .. so I changed it a bit. Hope you like it!!

Very, very nice shot of this mural Roberta and I think that center framing is nice in the matter a fact. Just wish to see more of side sculptures that interact with this mural. It’s a little too dark to catch whole mood. You should, maybe, use a bit of flash just to hold a contrast in the catch able state.

Ciao, bella foto suggestiva. La luce é anche molto attraente cosí graduata. Non sono molto cattolico pero é anche una bella opera d'arte. Preferisco la tua versione a quella del workshop ;)
