ITALIANO
Il Parco Giardino Sigurtà ha una superficie di 560.000 metri quadrati e si estende ai margini delle colline moreniche, nelle vicinanze del Lago di Garda, a soli otto chilometri da Peschiera. Trae la sua origine dal “brolo cinto de muro” (1617), giardino di Villa Maffei (opera di Pellesina, allievo del Palladio), dimora che nel 1859 fu quartiere generale di Napoleone III.
In quarant'anni di amorose cure, Carlo Sigurtà, avvalendosi di un secolare diritto di attingere acqua dal Mincio, ha ottenuto il "prodigio" di rendere lussureggiante l'arida vegetazione collinare. Successivamente, il nipote Enzo ha realizzato un prototipo di Parco-Giardino. Dopo l'apertura al pubblico (1978) la conservazione di questo complesso ecologico è stata affidata al rispetto dei visitatori, che lo hanno definito una meraviglia unica al mondo, tanto che il Parco-Giardino è considerato oggi fra i cinque più straordinari al mondo.

The Sigurtà gardens extend over 125 acres at the edge of the moraine hills that form the southern border of the Garda Lake, just 8 kilometres from the town of Peschiera.
They began life as the „brolo“ or walled garden (1617) of the Villa Maffei, designed by V. Pellesina, a student of Palladio, and in 1859 became for a time the headquarters of Napoleon III.
Through over forty years of loving care, Carlo Sigurtà, benefiting from an ancient right to draw water from the river Mincio below, performed the miracle of turning an arid hillside into luxurious greenery.
The plans for the existing park where then laid down by his grandson Enzo Sigurtà.
The park and gardens opened their gates to the public in 1978 and from then its conservation has been due in great part to the love of its visitors who have found it to be a true temple to nature itself.
The Parco Giardino Sigurtà is now considered one of the most beatiful gardens in the world.
