Photographer’s Note
This was taken on my first trip to Italy in May 2001. It was also my first time shooting digital and the camera was a bulky 2Mp Kodak point and shoot.
Venice is easy to get lost in, so I'm not sure exactly where in the city this location is, but I know its just off the Ca D'Oro on the side closest to the train station.
The magical thing about Venice is that it looks so unreal. At every turn it looks like something that would be fabricated in a Hollywood studio. But this is the real thing. This is what artisans try to recreate, never as well as the original.
Venice is truly a unique city unlike any other.

Hi Todd
NIce perspective on the canal. I like the colors, the well managed light and the reflection in water.
Well done

Hi, I've been to Venice 52 times :-)) always with the tourists and I'm quite bored with Venice but this pic makes me feel warmer about the place and I've even started thinking of going there one day on my own... nice colours and composition, regards, Gosia

Hi Todd
Venice images are well-known all around the world, but, even is quite difficult, I think you have showed us a new perspective of it.
I like a lot the perspective you have chosen, this kind of little canal, the colourful boats, the old and colourless facades,...
Good job
