Pellestrina (Fraction of the municipality of Venice)
Pellestrina is an island in northern Italy, forming a barrier between the southern Venetian Lagoon and the Adriatic Sea, lying south west of the Lido.
The island is 11 kilometres long and has since the eighteenth century been bounded to its seaward side by large embankments. There are four main villages: San Pietro in Volta, Porto Secco, Sant' Antonio di Pellestrina and Pellestrina, known for their colourfully-painted houses.
The main industries of the island are market gardening, fishing, tourism and lace making. Like Chioggia but unlike Torcello, the local lace is made with a needle.
Attractions on the island included the Lido of Ca' Roman, known for its pine trees and birdlife.

Venice with not a canal in sight! What a superb contrast these two buildings offer. Excellent saturated colours and great clarity. The presence of the bicycle contributes much to the mood.

This place is so different from Venice we normally see. The red building is so shining. I like a bike and some small plants here and there, very nice.

Is this a communist's house? :-) My God I have never seen a house painted with such bright red colour from top to bottom. It presents stark contrast with the house waiting for a touch up. Hope it does not get a similar bloodbath as the house on the left. Fine photo from you though well spotted the difference between these two houses. Like the windows with blinds drawn on all of them, presenting good contrast with the wall. Good one with vivid colours and excellent clarity. Thanks for sharing.

At first i thought this was in Burano
An amazing situation where the classic house at right cohabitates with this flashy red house
Best regards, have a nice evening

sono passato da Pellestrina, ma non mi sono fermato :(
Due architetture diverse, soprattutto nei colori, splendido l'antico pozzo. Un angolo originale e caratteristico, un ottimo esempio di condivisione.

I have never heard of this island on the Venetian laguna. What an amazing red building. Pity that there is no drying laundry on the lines, to break this all red view. Nice little osteria, would be fun to have some delicious fish there.

Ciao Romano ,
Intéressante juxtaposition de ces deux beaux immeubles , l'un en briques , l'autre de couleur très vive .

well spotted place with such an amazingly contrasting two buildings. The bright red one catches an eye even in the miniature. I like the composition with some small details making this picture more attractive: the bicycle, pots with plants or the red and white sign for roadwork.
LOvely colors, light and sharpness.
Have a nice day, my friend!

an image of contrast this. Two exquisite examples of Venice's architectural heritage and both equally as impressive and beautiful. Exquisite detail and a powerfully presented shot. Like it a lot!
Have a good weekend - B.

Two different facades with a very great difference between architecture and colour.
The façade with the brickwork is for my the most beautiful
Sharpness and clarity make these picture attractive.
Excellent captured, nice presentation.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice day,

Ho visto questa foto ieri sera ma non avevo più sorriso. Splendido contrasto archittetonico tra questi due pallestri. Fantastico il rosso non è possibile di mancarlo. Ottimo POV su questa piazzetta. Mi piace molto!

this one is a bit different, never seen this place before. for obvious reasons I much prefer the building on the right :)
and believe it or not i'd be interested in seeing how that lace is made.
charming scene once again, i like it.

Excellent houses close-up photo with very nice color contrast, perfect light, very good clarity. The view au is very nice. The well-chosen tight crop eliminates all unwanted distractions.

The bright red facade of the building contrasts well against the blue sky to give a superb warm vs cold color contrast. Good sharpness & excellent density levels with punchy light contrasts and effective tight framing. Tfs!
