We went to Venice for a few days at the start of carnival this year. I've seen pictures of people dressed up like this, but to experience it for real was extraordinary.
This couple were very popular with those, like me, taking photos in St Mark's. Hence the people looking away. However, the dog had great eye contact and with the Basilica in the background I thought this was rather cute and pretty.
The colours have been very slightly enhanced by increasing the contrast. I've also darkened the corners a little using 'burn' to help focus attention.
I reposted this photo as a result of feedback pointing out that I'd rotated the image but not then properly cropped to remove the white bits.

Great shot! I love the warm light and the dog gives the shot a more down to earth feeling. Well done!

I like the 'photopoaching' approach - so many good photographs are to be had when you step outside of the frame of what the majority of people are doing. I really like this too Steve - their obliviousness - the dogs awareness - the let through to the people on the building beyond and your work on the contrast.

Hi Steven, this is a photo with a very Baroc feel, very charged with lots of details, which is part of its charm. I like the overall colour pattern and of course the dog. Are you coming to Toulouse soon?

I enjoy spending time looking at your work... I truly see creative, meaningful and magnificent stuff (opposed to wagonloads of cheap pretensions, 13-out-of-a-dozen-shots misteriously worth 13.000 points, and assorted blablabla somewhere else)...
This is another "capolavoro" (masterpiece)!
No need to go through details : it's perfect!
There's nothing I can possibly add to it.
