Photographer's Note
Venice, the storied city situated in a lagoon off the northeast corner of Italy, is comprised of 117 small islands, 150 canals and 409 bridges. Indeed, her gondolas are her cars, her vaporetti her buses, her canals her roads, and the sweeping S-shaped Grand Canal her major thoroughfare. It would be an understatement to say that she is one of the most interesting and beautiful cities of the world. The immensely creative individuals who called the city home at one time or another include painters, Titian, Bellini, Tintoretto; composer, Vivaldi; astronomer-mathematician, Galileo; lover and general low-life, Casanova… and for a short time in the early 16th century, the universal genius, Leonardo.
Here, walking across a temporary new bridge are a pair of ladies, I believe Japanese, their colorful umbrellas offering some protection from the intense sunlight. The title of the photo is inspired by the scenes of Venice decorating their colorful new umbrellas, and not the wide beam of the ladies crossing the bridge.

Hello Bulent,
I like your original presentation of Venice. :-) Sometimes the small details, such as these umbrellas, can show us and teach us as much as the actual place itself. The crop is very nice, and the women have no idea that you are photographing them. I have a similar type of umbrella with NYC on it. It is much more fun to use than a plain one. :-)

Bonsoir, cher ami Bulent,

Hi Buletn,
They probably bought these umbrellas as souvenirs. They (umbrellas) look like big flowers here. In Poland umbrellas protect against the rain (parapluie) and never against the sun.
From this perspective it is difficult to guess were are they from. Japan wouldn't be my guess but who knows? Funny scene, well seen and presented.
Warm regrads

Hi Bulent
great photo of daily life you have captured here!
love it.
reading your note too, it gets my travel juices flowing as i've never been to Italy - but one day i will see Venice with my own eyes :) especially those 409 bridges!
funny though, we don't see very many blue hour or sunset/sunrise photos of venice...just a thought...
to see the toursity touches of the umbrella's is cool, and well captured. Personally, i wouldn't buy one, but i can understand the charm.
nice shot
cheers

hello Bulent,
une photo très opportuniste, ces deux parapluies constituent en effet un sujet inhabituel et cocasse. Le fait qu'il soit double ajoute à l'impact.
Jolies couleurs, qui ont gardé leur naturel.
Mes amitiés.
Daniel.

Ciao Bulent,
I love the symmetry of those 2 parasols. The women? Well, very Rubenesque! Good framing and sharpness & an apt title. I also like the warm cold color contrasts of blue & amber on those same umbrellas. Tfs!

Hello Bulent,
this is a well observed scene, a well composed photo with excellent clarity and lovely natural colours. The view of the panorama protecting the ladies while they are crossing hurriedly a well placed diagonal is an unexpected surprise. I like the sense of movement. The way each lady is holding her umbrella is a great contribution to the composition. Lighting is marvellous. A delightful picture that makes you smile. Thank you!
All the best,

Hello Bulent,
I like this: a view within a view!
Your pov not only delivers a fine view of the umbrellas but, also, allows us to share the walk with them. The shot is well composed with a strong f/g triangle and fine guide lines. Everything is sharp and there are lovely contrasting textures.
Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)

Hi Bulent,
Two of the same kind makes this quite efficient. And low angle was certainly good choice. Square framing fits well. Looks like a nice place with all that green above.

Hello Bülent,
This is an amusing and well timed shot with fine colours and clarity. Certainly that umbrella maker must have had a profitable idea. The umbrellas help us to identify the city even though the place as such is totally anonymous.
Kind regards,

Ciao dear Bulent,
this image and your notes were a pleasant smile for me. A spontaneous photo, original and creative, pleasantly colored by the sky of these skies umbrellas, that remember the skies of Canaletto. This is also a way to show the monuments of Venice to the people of TE! :-)
Ciao, have a nice week!

Merhaba Bulent Bey. i wasn't sure whether you were having a go at the panoramic girth of the subjects or their parasols. But knowing you to be the gentleman that you are, it is the later that your title alludes to.Still, it made me smile. Best wishes. Klaudio.

Hi Bulent,
One of the most interesting art in photography is to capture decisive moments at the right time, which you did wonderfully here. It's not written in the picture that it was taken in Venice, but their umbrellas are talking for them ! Great dynamism in the attitude of the walking ladies.
Perfect sharpness, management of light and colours.
Congratulations.
Marie-Louise.
