Photographer's Note
The Ponte degli Scalzi (or Ponte dei Scalzi), literally, "bridge of the barefoot [monks]", is one of only four bridges in Venice, to span the Grand Canal.
The bridge connects the sestieri of Santa Croce and Cannaregio. On the north side, Cannaregio, are the Chiesa degli Scalzi which is also known as the Church of Santa Maria di Nazareth, one of Venice’s best examples of Baroque churches. The popular name “Scalzi” refers to the Carmelite barefoot monks who established their order in Venice in 1633 and bought the plot of land facing the Grand Canal on which their church was builtTand the Santa Lucia (Ferrovia) railway station. The south side, Santa Croce, is close to the bus station Piazzale Roma.

Ciao Santo,
While the area behind the mirror and the sky are already becoming dark, the view in the mirror is bright, colourful and still full of life.
The composition is good. You waited for the right moment for the location of the boat.
I like the distorted image much and find it very artistic.
Best regards, Paul

Bon samedi

Hello Santo,
The mirror gives the bridge and buildings a very funny look, like they're designed by any of those modern architects who draw houses with strangely curved façades and leaning walls. I like the evening colours and the many glowing lights.
Kind regards,

Uei, Santo!
Decisamente un modo originale di mostrarci il famoso Ponte degli Scalzi di Venezia.
Ottimo il DOF nell'immagine riflessa.
Well done and TFS!

Ciao Santo. An Alice in Wonderland type of realization, possibly after inhaling from the Caterpillar's hooka. Great idea. Sadly I see that Venice continues to prostitute herself with all the advertisements hanging all over the famous edifices. Ciao. Klaudio.

Carissimo Santo
I love this shot for so many reasons: the colours are magnificent and the concept is original and well-realised. Most of all I love it because I can see two of my favourite monelli Veneziani in the image. Wow, you really are duking it out with Paolo in the reflection stakes arent't you? Just wonderful, and as much as I respect Klaudio, I disagree that La Serenissima is prostituting herself out. Harsh word that. Sure she's touristic, but in the modern world and with the Italian economy the way it is, it's a fight for survival.
Un abbraccio
Lisa

Ciao Santo,
Una vista che è allo stesso tempo originale e ben fatto che noi possiamo godere entrambi i lati del canale, con un piacevole effetto bokeh. Amo la differenza di colore tra il cielo delle due lati.
Saluti,
Delphine

Hi Santo
A good eye to detect this deformed mirror picture, contrasting with the twilight, far away from the Venice postcards.
Congratulations

Ciao Santo,
Living in China amongst several water towns, I can see where Marco Polo got his ideas for canals with bridges & noodles -> spaghetti. Apparently it was a 2 way exchange of ideas too, as 'gelato' was a big hit with the Chinese! Oh the photo! Good distortion & nice warm cold colour contrasts between the red bg buildings & blue water. Tfs!

Ciao Santo
Molto, molto bella.
un caro saluto
Simo

Hello Santo,
This is an amazing use of the mirror to give us an artistic view to the canal!
The crowd on the bridge, the boat on the canal... all elements well recorded but still with a creative distortion...
The moment is well chosen as the boat is approaching the bride..!
Greetings,

Hi Santo
a big reason why i venture into your gallery is simply because i never know what to expect.
it could be a portrait, it could be an animal, it could be something with sports, it could be a funny scene...you capture alot of variety...i like that.
here you're out of your home, now in Italy. Creative way to show us an Iconic city thats been photographed to hell. capturing the colors is great, as was capturing the distortion.
nice one
cheers

Hello Santo,
You show that you have a great eye for details.
I like your choice of diaphragm, because you
can see directly the main subject, it makes
the picture nice calmness and you give the picture
a nice depth.
The composition and light management are also
great....My compliments.
Friendly regards,
Robert
