Sei anni in TE !!
Ho iniziato su invito di un Vs. membro incontrato per caso rossofuoco e ora dopo 6 anni è diventato per me quasi un appuntamento vedere sempre delle belle foto e avere dei consigli sulle quelle pubblico, colgo l'occasione di ringraziare tutte le persone che mi hanno dato consigli e che hanno speso del tempo per vedere le mie foto.

Le Cinque Torri (talvolta dette anche Cinque Torri di Averau; in tedesco: Fünf Türme) sono un piccolo complesso montuoso facente parte del gruppo del Nuvolau, all'interno delle Dolomiti Ampezzane (catena delle Dolomiti orientali), a nord-ovest di San Vito di Cadore e a sud-ovest di Cortina d'Ampezzo.

Le Cinque Torri, come tutte le formazioni montuose della zona, sono formate da roccia Dolomia, dal particolare color grigio pallido. Il complesso è formato da cinque speroni di roccia (da cui deriva il nome) e un'altitudine massima di 2.361 m s.l.m. (Torre Grande). Ogni "torre" ha un proprio nome:
• Torre Grande, la maggiore, presenta tre cime ambitissime dagli appassionati rocciatori: Cima Nord, Cima Sud e Cima Ovest;
• Torre Seconda, composta da tre cime distinte chiamate Torre Lusy, Torre del Barancio e Torre Romana;
• Terza Torre, o Torre Latina;
• Quarta Torre, formata da due diversi denti di roccia di diversa grandezza, e per questo chiamati rispettivamente Torre Quarta Bassa e Torre Quarta Alta;
• Quinta Torre, o Torre Inglese.
Sono situate nella zona sud-occidentale della conca ampezzana, a nord del vicino monte Averau, di cui le Cinque Torri possono essere considerate parte.

Six years in TE !
I started thanks at member TE rossofuoco
and now after 6 years it has become almost an appointment for me to see more of the beautiful pictures and get advice on the public, in this I will to thank all the people who they gave me advice and who have taken the time to see my photos.

Cinque Torri (sometimes named also Cinque Torri di Averau; German: Fünf Türme) are a small group belonging to Nuvolao group, in the Dolomiti Ampezzane (part of the Eastern Dolomites) north-west of San Vito di Cadore and south-west of Cortina d'Ampezzo.

Cinque Torri, as all the other mountains in the area, are made of Dolomia, with a particular pale grey colour. The group is formed by five towers (which give the name to the mountain) with a maximum elevation of 2.361 m (Torre Grande). Every "tower" has its own name:
• Torre Grande, the highest one has three very appealing peaks for rock climbers: Cima Nord, Cima Sud e Cima Ovest;
• Torre Seconda, also named Torre del Barancio or Torre Romana;
• Terza Torre, or Torre Latina;
• Quarta Torre, formed by two blocks of rock with different height, respectively called then Torre Quarta Bassa and Torre Quarta Alta;
• Quinta Torre, or Torre Inglese.
They are located in the south-west area of the valley of Cortina d'Ampezzo, north of the Averau mountain, which Cinque Torri can be considered part of.

Ciao Andrea,

Thanks to your note, I just realized that today is the sixth anniversary of my appearance on Trekearth also (2 September 2006). This open hand like rocky outcrop in the mighty Dolomites rise as a monument to your sixth year of addiction to the site, as it does for me. I had not planned to post today, but perhaps I will. Your photo would have pleased the great photographer, Ansel Adams, who also worked in B&W. Congratulations on a very productive six years.

complimenti per il traguardo raggiunto, anche se la foto non è proprio indicata, gli anni sono 6 e le torri 5.....
Bellissimo B&W, l'atmosfera è suggestiva e si fa apprezzare profondamente.
Un grosso saluto, sperando di vedere tante altre belle foto e che la tua galleria non sia....Cortina.

Toutes mes félicitations pour ton 6ème anniversaire sur TE avec cette belle présentation en N\B. Ce rocher est magnifiqueCe rocher est vraiment magnifique et la bonne gestion de l'éclairage nous le fait voir dans toute sa beauté devant un beau ciel nuageux.

Hello Andrea,

first of all, sincere congratulations for your 6 productive years in TE, a remarkable target. And on that note I just realized that tomorrow would be my 6th. Rightly, you wanted to celebrate this milestone with a beautiful picture and this one is simply brilliant. Love the BW format and the way you have captured the feel of this whole atmosphere. A magnificent landscape with magical lights. Amazing photo quality, especially the sharpness and light management. Will look forward to many more such wonderful photos in the coming years and my best wishes for the same.

when we think of Italy, tall mountain ranges don't spring to mind immediately, but certainly Italy has them in spades.

Interesting choice to display this in monochrome, it shows off the grey of the Dolomia you mentioned.

smart idea to include the range in the bg left to fill the photo.

hai scelto un ottima foto per festeggiare i tuoi 6 anni in TE, la bellezza di queste montagne è fuori discussione...ma la tua scelta per il B&W è stata ottima visto anche il cielo minaccioso, ottimo il close-up e lo sharp...

Sebbene non sono mai stato sulle Dolomiti, conoscevo le 3 Cime, ma non sapevo delle 5 Torri.

Congratulations on surviving for 6 years! Your anniversary posting is very special, as it has every right to be. The choice of monochrome is perfect, and the PoV could hardly be bettered. The lighting too is excellent, and the clouds are dramatic and slightly menacing. It makes me want to go there, and for me that's key! By the way, are those figures on the extreme right? Good work.

6 anni sono tanti, e di strada ne abbiamo fatta un pezzo insieme.
L'importante é aver migliorato e ampliato le nostre abilitá fotografiche.

Hello, congrats on 6 years here on TE. I too love this site and see it as a great way to learn from other great photographers and to learn about the world. Here I am learning about the Dolomites and really agree with the b/w choice you made for your image.
Excellent capture of light onto the rocks.
