''Auronzo di Cadore is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Belluno in the Italian region Veneto, located about 120 km north of Venice and about 50 km northeast of Belluno.

The municipality of Auronzo di Cadore is also to the famous mountain group of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. The river Ansiei forms here the artificial basin of Santa Caterina, which borders the town.''

Il lago artificiale lambisce il comune e crea un valore aggiunto alla cittadina ed al paesaggio.
Un fondo valle e la luce favorevole presentano la gradazione di colore dell'acqua migliore , il verde smeraldo.

A grand representation of this magic part of the world. Italy has so much to offer. The dramatic moutnains, colourful water and attractive village are all good elements here. I like the richness of the colour and the sharp presentation.

Bellissima questa inquadratura dove dai molto spazio al meraviglioso blu del Lago! Bello anche il cielo terso, e fra i due blu il paesaggio montano con le Cime di Lavaredo che spiccano sul fondo! Immagine solare di ampio respiro!

This is a stunning photo of a great part of the Dolomites. The lake looks great and the clear blue sky makes a perfect backdrop to the mountains.
